Kate studied sociology, writing, and psychology at Pomona College, consistently ranked among the top colleges in the country. Her studies there inspired her to bring together her knowledge of the social sciences and consumers with her passion for writing.
Kate has been a published author for over a decade. Her work has been featured by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, the American Sailing Association, Outdoor Families Magazine, Cruiser’s World Magazine, and numerous popular online publications including The Huffington Post, Bonbon Break, and Mother.ly. Kate has also created branded content for national parenting brands and educational companies including Generation Mindful, Qeepsake, Let Grow, and CollegeVine. She is a member of the Huffington Post Contributor Network and the Today Show Parenting Team. Her work has reached a readership of over one million.
Kate holds a master’s degree in education and a captain’s license through the U.S. Coast Guard. When she’s not writing, she can be found adventuring, skiing, or sailing with her husband and two sons.
