
Kate studied sociology, writing, and psychology at Pomona College, consistently recognized as one of the nation’s top liberal arts colleges. Her studies there inspired a lifelong journey to merge her knowledge of the social sciences with her love of writing and education.
With over 20 years of experience in the education sector, Kate has worn many hats—including classroom teacher, special educator, consultant, and content creator. She has developed curriculum and educational content for a variety of national parenting and education brands, including Generation Mindful, Qeepsake, Let Grow, CollegeVine, and Kaipod Learning. Her work has reached an audience of over one million readers. Most recently, the curriculum she created for Ori Learning received a CODiE Award nomination and won an EdTech Breakthrough Award in the Student Personalization & Engagement category.
Kate is especially passionate about partnering with families, schools, and education organizations to create learning solutions that support every student. As a special education parent, she brings both personal insight and professional expertise to her work—helping teams develop creative, evidence-based strategies that place the child first.
Kate holds a Master of Education from Lesley University, as well as a U.S. Coast Guard Master’s license. Outside of work, she enjoys adventuring, skiing, and sailing with her husband and two sons.
