School Placement Consultation

School placement consultation with me is a holistic process that includes a complete record review, honest conversations with the family and student, collaboration with the current school when desired, and input from other providers including therapists, counselors, and doctors. This service may include:

• Recommended school placement list with personalized rationale, including a transparent summary of each school’s pros and cons.
• Written summary of the student’s learning profile and desired outcomes
• Guidance through the school application process and/or supported transition to a new learning environment

Special Education Advocacy and IEP Support

I support families in navigating the special education process from referrals through annual reviews and re-evaluations. I review and interpret evaluations with an expert lens, help families prepare for IEP or 504 meetings, advocate for services that meet the child’s unique needs, and help school teams find the routes to child-centered solutions within their existing structures. My expertise, as both a teacher and a special education parent, provides a unique lens for student profiles, vision statements, and proposed goals. This service may include:

Academic Screening and Assessment

I have the experience, qualifications, and training necessary to administer standardized assessments commonly used to evaluate a student’s current academic functioning. Because it is common for students to be over-evaluated, this service often includes the initial use of common screeners to determine if further evaluation is warranted. Full academic testing provides families with a complete picture of a student’s strengths and areas in need of support. This service includes:
